NASCAR in the Desert

Fast cars, family, and friends! A week long dog friendly party for any NASCAR fan. Check out this Arizona RACEWAY.

Who knew Nascar weekend could be so fun?! My Nana is super into Nascar and they have been going to the race in Phoenix since before I was born. Previously known as the PIR, ISM in Avondale, AZ is home to two races during the NASCAR season (March and November). During both of these events, the campgrounds around the racetrack are open for a week and fans come from all over with their motorhomes for a week long party.

We left San Diego on Friday afternoon, but a quick 5 hour drive and we were there with all our family and friends to hang out around the campfire. Our camp was arranged with the motorhomes in a circle so my cousins and I had free reign inside our campsite. Bikes are a popular mode of transportation around the campgrounds and I got to practice running alongside one. I remember trying this back in Hawaii on the busy streets, but I enjoyed the wide open dirt roads much more. We rode all over and explored. There was even an area where the people camp right on the race track. Wow was that loud!

I met a lot of cool furriends while I was here. And of course it wouldn’t be an Arizona trip without an epic sunset photo session. Brandi and I went for a walk to the outskirts of the campground to soak in the desert in all of its beauty! Thanks so much, we will see you all in March!
